The Thanksgiving Recipe menu consisted of cornmeal, fish, or turkeys. Other dishes were not included in the menu but were available to the village population. The foods were lobster, rabbit, chicken, squashes, beans, chestnuts, hickory nuts, onions, leeks, dried fruits, maple syrup and honey, radishes, cabbage, carrots, eggs, and maybe goat cheese.

One of the great methods available to prepare meats and poultry was roasting and it took long hours to cook. Colonists were able to have cranberries but since no sugar was available, honey or syrup was used to sweeten the cranberries.

Based on this popular belief about the Thanksgiving Recipe menu we should only use the roasted method of cooking and have fish, corn, wheat bread, and no turkey.
